Todd Haines directs this drama starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore. Elizabeth (Portman) will soon be starring in a film portraying Gracie (Moore), a controversial woman who was the subject of public scrutiny due to her relationship with a minor. Gracie agrees to Elizabeth coming to spend the week with her so that Elizabeth can study her daily life and prepare for her role, whilst coming to terms with Gracie´s past. When Gracie was 36, she had an indecent affair with 12-year-old Joe (Charles Melton), now her husband, and her notoriety has led to the development of a film based on her life. As Elizabeth learns more about Gracie, can she separate herself from the life she is trying to emulate?
