Kumu kunstimuuseumi näitus „Aedade järelelu” (10.05.–08.09.2013) on ambitsioonikas projekt, mis hõlmab Kumu kolmanda, nn klassikakorruse B-tiiva, kaasaegse kunsti galerii viiendal korrusel ning samuti muuseumi sisehoovi. Näitus käsitleb aedu ja parke nii läbi vanema eesti kunstiajaloo autorite loomingu kui ka uudses, kaasaegse kunsti võtmes. Tegemist on sissevaatega aia- ja pargikultuuri alates 19. sajandi ideaalmaastikest kuni nüüdisaja utoopiateni. Näitusega kaasneb kaks raamatut „Aedade järelelu 1” ja „Aedade järelelu 2”. Käesolev näituse klassikakorruse väljapanekut saatev raamat raamib looduse selgepiirilisemalt. Huviorbiidis ei ole ainult loodus, vaid selle inimkäega korrastatud vormid – pargid ja aiad. The exhibition “Afterlives of Gardens” (10.05.–08.09.2013) is an ambitious project, which encompasses the third floor, the classics floor, of Kumu Art Museum’s B-wing, and the Gallery of Contemporary Art on the fifth floor, as well as the museum’s courtyard. The exhibition presents gardens and parks through the works of artists from early periods of Estonian art history, but also through the newer idiom of contemporary art. It is an insight into garden and park culture from the 19th. from the ideal landscapes of the 20th century to modern utopias. The exhibition is accompanied by two books “Afterlives of Gardens 1” and “Afterlives of Gardens 2”. This book, which accompanies the exhibition on the classic floor of the exhibition, frames nature more clearly. Not only nature is in the orbit of interest, but its forms arranged by human hands – parks and gardens.
