Eesti Kunstimuuseumi 2025. aasta seinakalender on inspireeritud muuseumi 105. sünnipäevale pühendatud näitusest „Käpikust Kölerini. Muuseumikogu sünnilugu“, mis toimub Kadrioru kunstimuuseumis (21.09.2024–02.03.2025). Kalendrisse on valitud teosed tuhatkonna maali hulgast, mis omandati kunstimuuseumi kogusse enne Teist maailmasõda. Autorite hulgas on nii tänapäevalgi tuntud meistreid, näiteks August Jansen ja Peet Aren, kui ka nüüdseks pea tundmatuid nimesid, nagu Alfred Kivi. Need teosed – 19. ja 20. sajandil Eestis tegutsenud kunstnike looming – on muuseumi näitustel kunstisõpru rõõmustanud juba üle saja aasta.
The 2025 wall calendar of the Art Museum of Estonia is inspired by the exhibition From Mittens to Köler: The Birth of the Museum’s Collection, which will be held at the Kadriorg Art Museum from 21 September 2024 to 2 March 2025. The works featured in the calendar are among the approximately 1,000 paintings acquired for the museum’s collection before the Second World War. Some of the artists, such as August Jansen and Peet Aren, remain well-known today, while other names like Alfred Kivi have largely faded into oblivion. These paintings by artists who worked in Estonia in the 19th and 20th centuries have been delighting art lovers in the museum’s exhibitions for over a hundred years.
